Still Awaiting Jackson Hole Details

FED
It's still unclear exactly when this year's Jackson Hole Economic Symposium will be held, and/or whether it will take place wholly online. It's usually held the final weekend in August.
  • The Kansas City Fed, which hosts the event, told MNI that they had "no news" regarding the timing. As for whether it will be an in-person event as usual, or virtual like the 2020 edition: "We have not made any announcements yet about the Jackson Hole format and will provide more information at a later date."
  • The prevailing assumption is that it will be held the weekend of Aug 26-28 (ie. the last weekend of the month, as in 2020, and in most prior years recently - Thu to Sat). But in 2019, for example, it was held the 2nd last weekend of the month (Aug 22-24).
  • Either way, if history is any indication, we won't have a full agenda until the night before it begins, though sometimes a few speakers on the agenda leak out beforehand.
