STOCKS: Stocks in China and Japan are recovering some of yesterday's losses as
US equity futures resume their gains despite the weak close in the US. Australia
is the notable underperformer.
- The Nikkei is up 0.5% back above its 200-dma shrugging off the impact of a
firmer yen, while the Hang Seng holds resistance-turned-support to add on 0.7%
to recover much of yesterday's losses. The CSI 300 is up 0.5% but continues to
underperform as support at 3125 remains in focus.
- The ASX200 is down 1.2% erasing the past three days of gains to return the
focus to support just below 5600. The weak China manufacturing PMI appears to
have weighed on the index which is down across the board with the exception of
the energy sector.
