CHILE - USDCLP bucked the trend yesterday in LatAm as copper prices, despite reversing, held onto gains.

*The IMACEC recovered in November. The GDP proxy rose 1.1% m/m seasonally-adjusted in November. Activity has increased 12.2% from the lows reported in May, but remains 6.3% below the level observed in February before the pandemic hit, showing there is potential room for further increases.


COLOMBIA - Three zones in Bogota go into lockdown. Usaquen, Suba and Engativa, three populous zones amassing approximately 2.3 million people go into lockdown starting at midnight on January 5 until January 18. The decision has been taken after a ramp up in the occupancy rate (now at 77.6%) of Covid-19 intensive care units and hospitals.
