Support Grows For New Chilean Constitution Amid Bump In Boric Approval

CHILE

A new Cadem poll has shown that support for the Chilean constitution has risen considerably since the release of the formal draft proposal to be put to a referendum on September 4.

  • Polling surrounding the constitutional referendum has offered significant variance. A Criteria poll today shows a slightly poorer approval of the constitution: Approve: 44.3% (-) Reject: 55.7% (-).
  • An Activa/Pulso Ciudadano poll released last week found: Approve: 38.7% (+1.4) Reject: 61.3% (-1.4)
  • The Cadem poll may be reflecting a change in fortune for the administration of President Gabriel Boric. Cadem has recorded a significant bump in the president's approval this week: Approve: 44% (+8) Don't know/Neither: 9% (+2) Disapprove: 47% (-10)
