POWER: Sweden, Denmark Eye Power Link Replacement

Sweden and Denmark are planning to replace the existing two power interconnectors between Sweden’s SE3 zone and Denmark’s DK1 zone with the new Konti-Skan Connect power link by around mid-2030s, Swedish TSO Svenska kraftnät said. 

  • The new cable with have a transmission capacity of 1GW. The previous cables had a capacity of 715MW.
  • The old cables will remain operational until the new interconnector is completed.
