Sweden’s Eolus Applies for Permit for 2.2GW of Swedish Offshore Wind

Swedish company Eolus has applied for a permit to build a 2.2GW floating offshore wind farm off the coast of Sweden, with the project expected to be completed by 2033, according to the firm.

  • The Skidbladner project will have 147 wind turbines and is estimated to produce about 11.7 TWh/yr.
  • The wind farm will be built in the Baltic Sea to the southeast of Stockholm
  • Eolus is also planning to build the Herkules offshore wind project also in Sweden’s economic zone – together the two plants will have a capacity of 4.6GW.
