Swiss hydropower reserves last week increased by 1.2 percentage points to 85.9% of capacity as of 23 October, switching back to a surplus to the five-year average, BFE data showed.

  • Stocks marked the first week-on-week increase last week, driven by inflows into reserves.
  • Inventories rose back to a surplus of 0.7 percentage points to the five-year average last week, compared to a deficit of 0.9 points the week prior. Stocks also switched back to a surplus to the long-term average – since 1997 – of now 2.1 points.
