Szijjarto Stresses De-Linking of Energy Policy from Politics

  • Foreign Minister Szijjarto again looks to de-link politics and energy policy, stating yesterday that the security of supply and fuel price are the sole factors determining the government’s approach to policy.
  • Tamas Deutsch, the head of Fidesz in the European Parliament detailed his view that sovereign-led, nationalist and pro-peace positions are growing in European Parliament and on course to form a majority. He mentioned politicians from Spain, Netherlands, Finland and Sweden as pushing against the “mainstream” Brussels view ahead of the June 9th European Parliamentary elections.
  • Minutes are due from the NBH covering their last rate decision, at which the bank cut rates by 75bps to 8.25%.
