US TSYS: T-Notes edge lower in recent trade, with little in the way of fresh
catalysts noted, outside of S&P e-minis having a look through Friday's highs.
Move a little peculiar given Sino-U.S. tension stole the limelight over the
weekend. It could just be a case of continued, measured re-opening in Europe &
Asia supporting sentiment in thin conditions. Contract last -0-01 at 139-09+,
holding a 0-04 range thus far.
- Some focus on early comments from Fed Chair Powell, who noted that the central
bank is not out of ammunition, but again pushed back against the idea of
negative rates.
- A reminder that Friday's episode of Sino-U.S. sabre rattling, focusing on the
likes of Huawei, Boeing & Apple, supported the space, before a pullback on the
bid in crude oil and chatter re: positive medical advances in fighting COVID-19.
- Eurodollar futures sit 0.5 to 1.0 tick higher through the reds.
