US TSYS: T-Notes tag a fresh session high into European hours, as regional
participants start to react to the weekend news flow, with fresh COVID-19 worry
in both the U.S. & China, and to a lesser degree, political tension on the
Korean peninsula, supporting the space. Contract last +0-08+ at 139-00, just
back from the aforementioned fresh session high as volume nears 110K lots, with
the cash space bull flattening, as yields sit 1.4-5.6bp richer across the curve.
Swap spreads out to 10-Years a little wider, with 20s and 30s a touch tighter.
- The latest bout of Fedspeak from Kaplan & Barkin failed to provide much to
move the needle re: the policy discussion. The weekend also saw White House
Economic advisor Kudlow point to a pullback in unemployment support come the end
of July, while trade advisor Navarro noted the need for fresh manufacturing
stimulus that will total "at least US$2 trillion."
- Tsys also looked through the latest round of Chinese economic activity data,
which was a little softer vs exp. on net, although the prints still represented
an improvement when compared to April's suite of data.
- Focus in U.S. hours will move to addresses from Fed's Kaplan & Daly.
