US TSYS: T-Notes trade at the top of their tight overnight range as we approach
European hours and ahead of a long holiday weekend in China/HK, with a very
limited economic docket apparent overnight. Yields are 0.6-1.5bp lower across
the curve, with the belly leading.
- NYT reports suggested that "some of Mueller investigators have told associates
that Attorney General Barr failed to adequately portray the findings of their
inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr
indicated." This had little impact on broader sentiment.
- Elsewhere, Fed's Kashkari backed the Fed's recent pivot to patience.
- Eurodollar futures trade 0.5-1.0 tick higher through the reds.
- Focus moves to the ongoing U.S.-China trade talks, with President Trump set to
meet Chinese trade envoy Liu He later today. The WSJ has reported that "Trump is
likely to announce plans for a summit with China's Xi on Thursday." Elsewhere,
comments from Fed's Mester & Harker will be watched.
- T-Notes last 123.17+, U.S. 10-Year cash Tsy yields last 2.510%.
