Taiwan’s year-on-year inflation rate slowed for a third consecutive month in November, falling to 2.35% from 2.72%, according to the National Statistics Department on Tuesday.

The CPI's month-on-month decrease of 0.15% came as garments fell 2.01% after anniversary promotions in department stores. This was partially offset by services for entertainment rising 0.83% due to domestic COVID-19 control restrictions being eased.

The November PPI fell 1.13% m/m and increased 6.98% y/yr. The Wholesale Price Index fell 1.54% m/m and increased 9.07% y/y.

The Central Bank of the Republic of China said at its most recent policy meeting that inflation-related indicators pointed to an easing of domestic inflationary pressures to below 2% next year.
