Taiwan To Receive More Vaccine Doses

Taiwan dollar is stronger today, USD/TWD down 0.018 at 27.881 and reversing Monday's gain. Since challenging the 28.00 handle last week the rate has dropped back and consolidated around current levels.

  • On the coronavirus front there were 60 new cases in the past 24 hours, there were reports from the health minister that more doses of the Moderna vaccine will arrive on Wednesday, though did not confirm the number of doses. There were reports in Liberty Times that it would be 410k doses. The Taiwan FDA also said it would not review Medigen's application for emergency use authorisation of its Covid vaccine until end-July due to missing documents.
  • There are no domestic releases on the docket today, participants look ahead to PMI data on Thursday.
