SPAIN: Talks between PSOE of caretaker PM Pedro Sanchez and left-wing Unidos
Podemos end with no progress made.
- PSOE spokesperson Adriana Lastra says "there is no way to reach an agreement
with Podemos. They have refused at all times to reach an agreed programme."
- Two parties had been attempting to form coalition following inconclusive
general election in April.
- If no stable coalition can be formed by 23 September, new election will be
triggered to be held on 10 November. 
- PSOE performing well in opinion polls, but if these numbers were reflected in
vote it would still be short of a majority in Congress of Deputies.
