TC Energy Confirm Keystone Pipeline Outage

The 622,000 bpd Keystone Pipeline which flows Canadian crude from Alberta to the US Midwest and on to the Gulf was shut because of an oil release into a creek about 20 miles south of Steele City, Nebraska.

  • The response was initiated at about 8 p.m. CT on Dec. 7
  • "The system remains shut down as our crews actively respond and work to contain and recover the oil," TC Energy said.
  • News of the shutdown has caused a jump in WTI prices, up over 3% today.
