Tengiz Maintenance Knocks Kazakh Oil Production by 10%

Crude production in Kazakhstan has dropped by about 200k b/d, or 10%, over the past week because of unplanned maintenance works at the Tengiz field according to Tengizchevroil.

  • Kazakhstan produced 235.6k tons on Wednesday, equivalent to about 1.79m bbl of its light crude and condensate - down from 261.5k tons, or 1.99m bbl last Thursday.
  • Kazakhstan’s crude production was slightly below its OPEC+ output target of 1.628m b/d in January.
  • It is not clear how long the maintenance will last.
