Spot USD/THB trades -0.032 at THB31.178, with bears looking for a dip through Jun 2 low of THB31.130. Below there opens May 10 low of THB31.048. On the topside, a break above Jun 4 high of THB31.275 would turn focus to May 18 high of THB31.510.

  • Gov't spokesman Anucha said Tuesday that the national Covid-19 task force will consider the details of the Phuket reopening plan during its meeting slated for Jun 18, before submitting the plan to the Cabinet. The resort island is expected to welcome foreign tourists under the new arrangements on Jul 1. Meanwhile, PM Prayuth said that the Cabinet considers reopening ten other provinces to foreign visitors in the second half of the year, after trialing it in Phuket.
  • Tourism Min will speak about tourism safety today, while major Thai business organisations will hold their monthly meeting on economic matters.
  • May consumer confidence data from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce headlines the local docket today. In April, the index reached its worst level since 1999.
  • On Friday, the BoT will provide its usual weekly update on foreign reserves.
