CHINA DATA: The Caixin China manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) rose
for the fifth consecutive month to 51.8 in November from October's 51.7. The
index moved further into the expansionary zone above the breakeven 50 and hit
the highest level since 2017. 
- Improved demand drove manufacturers to expand production and led to increased
output. The new orders sub-index remained relatively strong, and the new export
orders sub-index remained above 50 for the second month, Caixin said.
- The Caixin figure was in line with the trend of the official PMI, reported by
the National Bureau of Statistics on Saturday, which edged up 0.9 pp to 50.2 in
November from the previous month.
- The Caixin PMI tracks small and medium sized manufacturers which are not
surveyed by the NBS.
