FOREX: The dollar made modest gains against many of its peers in a fairly
uninspiring Asia session. Dollar-yen trekked from Y110.19 to Y110.61, momentum
funds were predominantly behind the buying. Dollar-yen currently trades at
Y110.55. Despite a strong Capex Survey, Aussie consolidated within a $0.7887 to
$0.7923 range, but did make ground on the crosses. Aussie was last at $0.7908.
Kiwi-dollar dropped from $0.7210 to $0.7164, softer local data and demand in
Aussie-kiwi post Capex weighed on the flightless bird. Meanwhile, Euro-dollar
currently trades at $1.1877 and Cable at $1.2911, after trading in respective
ranges of $1.1872 to $1.1897 and $1.2906 to $1.2928.
