The early part of today's Asia-Pacific........>

FOREX
FOREX: The early part of today's Asia-Pacific session has seen a modest risk-on
feel creep into the G10 FX space. The Antipodeans have marginally outperformed,
with kiwi leading gains among the G10 currencies, following an uptick in NZ
BusinessNZ manufacturing PMI.
- The yen has underperformed, as the Nikkei 225 opened on the front foot and
moved higher through the session.
- BoC Snr Dep Gov Wilkins spoke overnight, noting that elevated and rising
global debt was a headwind to growth. Wilkins made no reference to further rate
hikes in the text of her address. In the Q&A session she noted that higher
levels of debt may elongate the time that it takes the BoC to reach a neutral
interest rate.
- Most G10 crosses have stuck to tight ranges thus far.
- The BoJ is set to deliver its MonPol decision later today. Elsewhere, focus
turns to final EZ and Italian CPI data, as well as industrial output, U. of
Mich. survey and Empire m'fing survey from the U.S. Today's list of central bank
speakers includes BoJ Gov Kuroda and ECB's Rehn.
