ECB: The ECB has released the first detailed breakdown of PEPP purchases. Some
of the highlights:
- Total PEPP holdings as of end-May were EUR234.7bln, including EUR2.1bln
covered bonds, EUR10.6bln corporate, EUR35.4bln commercial paper, and
EUR186.6bln public sector securities.
- Biggest net purchases: EUR46.7bln Germany, EUR37.4bln Italy, EUR23.6bln
France, EUR22.4bln Spain.
- By way of comparison, this looks a little light vs capital key for Germany and
France, but overweight Italy and Spain.
- Also of note: EUR13.9bln for Supranationals, EUR4.7bln Greece, EUR4.2bln
Portugal.
- In general weighted average maturities of purchases appear higher under PEPP
than in the eligible universe, though one notable exception is Germany (3.15 WAM
vs 6.6 for the eligible universe). Full data here:
