FOREX: The fallout from the U.S. killing of a top Iranian military commander,
noted over the weekend, encouraged participants to start the session on a
cautious note. However, the initial risk-off mood has faded somewhat, perhaps on
the back of lack of any hard-line retaliation by Tehran thus far.
- The Antipodeans have clawed back their initial losses, but SEK still shows
some weakness. CHF benefits from a modest safe haven demand, while CAD has been
propped up by firmer oil prices. USD/JPY has recovered from worst levels after
having a look under Friday's lows.
- Chinese Caixin services & composite PMIs, due shortly, will be followed by a
number of analogical readings from across the globe later in the day. German
retail sales and EZ PPI are also on the docket.
