Africa evident), continued worry in South Korea re: the virus, further signs of
the virus' effects on supply chains and spill over from U.S. trade (which saw
the 3 major U.S. equity indices enter technical correction) dented risk
sentiment in Asia-Pac trade, with equities feeling the brunt of the move.
- The move was so severe that it resulted in the JSCC declaring an emergency
margin call for Japanese equity index futures.
- The losses were broad based across the major indices, with Chinese mainland
stocks' recent run of outperformance coming to an end.
- Nikkei 225 -4.1%, Hang Seng -2.5%, CSI 300 -3.4%, ASX 200 -3.3%.
- S&P 500 futures -23, DJIA futures -174, NASDAQ 100 futures -113.
