JAPAN: The latest round of weekly Japanese international security flow data
showed that Japanese investors turned net sellers of foreign bonds for the first
time in 3-weeks, although it was only at the margin, so this didn't stop the
4-week rolling sum of the measure from pushing further into positive territory.
Japanese investors also logged a third consecutive week of net buying of foreign
stocks.
- Foreigners flipped to net buying of Japanese bonds allowing the 4-week rolling
sum of the measure to push further into positive territory. They were also net
sellers of Japanese equities for a second consecutive week, with the 4-week
rolling sum of the measure moving below Y100bn. The 4-week rolling sum of
international flows for Japanese equities was last in negative territory i.e.
selling, in early April.
