HONG KONG: The Legislative Council has passed the 'National Anthem Bill', which
criminalises any showing of disrespect to the Chinese national anthem. 
- Debate in the legislature was disrupted by pro-democracy lawmakers, but this
did not halt the progress of the Bill and its eventual passage.
- The Bill allows for the imprisonment of those who insult the Chinese anthem
for up to three years, and a fine of up to HKD50,000 (USD6,450). It also
requires that primary and secondary school children are taught the anthem.
