STOCKS: The major Asia-Pacific benchmarks trade mixed, back from best levels
that were inspired by a rally in Chinese stocks on the back of speculation
surrounding a Trump-Xi phone call, although such a call has yielded no immediate
impact, with increased U.S. tariffs on China going into play, while BBG sources
have suggested the latest round of trade talks yielded little to no progress.
Chinese equities are observing their lunch break at writing.
- Nikkei 225 -0.4%, Hang Seng +0.6%, CSI 300 +1.9% ASX 200 -0.1%.
- U.S. equity index futures trade lower.
- S&P index futures -11, DJIA futures -82, NASDAQ 100 futures -38
