STOCKS: The major Asia-Pacific indices failed to move higher as the spectre
created by the trade war continued to hover over the region.
- IT & materials led the Nikkei 225 lower, as the index registered losses of
~0.5%, although telecoms and consumer staples provided some support to the
index.
- The CSI300 failed to move into positive territory as the PBOC resumed
liquidity injections after a 3 week hiatus, shedding 0.6%.
- The Hang Seng lost 0.5% as the health care sector provided the largest drag.
- Elsewhere, the ASX 200 registered marginal losses as the heavyweight materials
and financial sectors provided the most weight.
- U.S. index futures edged lower overnight.
