EQUITIES: The major equity indices struggled to gain any real upside traction in
the final Asia-Pac session of the month, with the focus on President Trump's
impending address re: China, after the announcement of the President's Friday
presser pushed Wall St. stocks lower into the bell on Thursday.
- Elsewhere, Sino-U.S. tensions, in addition to general Hong Kong and Taiwan
frictions, provided little for bulls to latch onto during a news light session.
- A reminder that the models that we have seen point to month-end rebalancing
out of U.S. stocks and into bonds.
- The major regional indices and U.S. equity indices have managed to recover
from intraday lows, but activity has been fairly limited.
- Nikkei 225 -0.3%%, Hang Seng, -0.6%, CSI 300 unch., ASX 200 -0.9%.
- S&P 500 futures -11, DJIA futures -110, NASDAQ 100 futures -20.
