STOCKS: The negative lead from Wall St. has spilled over into Asia-Pac trade,
with the major regional equity indices and U.S. equity index futures moving
lower, as worry re: U.S. corporate earnings, soft U.S. economic data and
continued focus on the lasting impacts of COVID-19 weighing on risk appetite.
- U.S. President Trump's comments re: passing the peak of new COVID-19 cases,
and continued focus on re-opening the economy did little to support the space.
- Chinese equities were the regional outperformer, but that was a case of the
cleanest shirt on a dirty pile.
- Nikkei 225 -1.3%, Hang Seng -0.7%, CSI 300 -0.2%, ASX 200 -1.1%.
- S&P 500 futures -20, DJIA futures -157, NASDAQ 100 futures.
