The OBR has released updated coronavirus cost....>

UK: The OBR has released updated coronavirus cost estimates. The headline is
that direct govt measures are now expected to cost GBP132.5bln (up from the
GBP123.2bln assumed in the last update on 14 May). The major changes are in
three areas:
- The job retention (furlough) scheme is now expected to have a net cost of
GBP54bln, up slightly from the GBP50bln previously estimated.
- The self-employment support scheme is now estimated to cost GBP15.0bln, up
from GBP10.5bln previously - this takes into account the second grant now.
- Public services spending has been revised up from GBP15bln to GBP16bln to take
into account the GBP1bln grant to Transport for London.
