CHINA FX: The on-shore yuan exchange rate rose to 6.5995 against the green back
at 3 pm Beijing time, breaking the level of 6.600 for the first time since June
24, 2016 when it was as strong as 6.5864. The yuan has shown a large
appreciation against the dollar so far this week, up 0.48% on Monday and another
0.43% gain so far today, as investors who previously shorted yuan have switched
to selling the U.S dollar on concerns about rising momentum for dollar
depreciation.
