EURO-DOLLAR: The pair opened in Asia at $1.1815 toward the upper side of
yesterday's $1.1731 to $1.1828 range, where softer US rate yields placed the
euro on the front foot. There is no data or scheduled events in Asia likely to
impact trading, sideways consolidation is expected with no particular bias.
Traders make mention of option expiries for today at $1.1800(E455m),
$1.1825(E602mn) and $1.1850(E2.26bn) that may act to contain the near term
range. Resistance is noted at $1.1838/47 (Aug14-11 highs), while Aug 17 high of
$1.1790 should now act as support.
