DOLLAR-YEN: The pair opened in Asia at Y112.34 toward the lower side of the
Y112.26 to Y113.21 range witnessed yesterday, where modest US dollar weakness
was the main theme as profit-taking set in. Japan August CPI data (2330GMT) is
the pick of the data releases, consensus is for CPI inflation excluding fresh
food and energy, the BoJ's favoured measure, to rise by 0.2% y/y. Today is
half-fiscal year for Japan, which may see the sellers with the upper-hand at the
Tokyo-fix. Hourly resistance is seen in the mid-Y112.70's, while support is
located at Y112.04 (200-dma), there is also a large expiry for today at Y112.00
($1.17bn), that may act to contain the near-term range. Dollar-yen was last at
Y112.37
