EQUITIES: The positive lead from Wall St. has allowed the bulk of the major
regional equity indices to move higher in Asia-Pac hours. A reminder that Monday
saw U.S. tech names fare well, on top of a general degree of optimism
surrounding the work towards a COVID-19 vaccine being evident.
- Elsewhere, IBM managed to top both revenue and EPS estimates in its quarterly
earnings report, which hit after hours on Monday.
- The formalisation of an EU recovery fund deal had little impact on risk
sentiment, given the fact that such a move was priced in during European/NY
hours.
- Nikkei 255 +0.8%, Hang Seng +1.9%, CSI 300 +0.1%, ASX 200 +1.9%.
- S&P 500 futures +6, DJIA futures +11, NASDAQ 100 futures +67.
