CHINA YUAN: The yuan closed at 6.2783 against the U.S dollar,the strongest level
in over two-years Tuesday.
- The yuan rose to its strongest since August 10, 2015 when it closed at 6.2097
- On August 11, 2015, the PBOC suddenly allowed the yuan to depreciate by
nearly 2% against the U.S. dollar, the result of a surprise policy change that
roiled international currency markets.
- PBOC set the yuan central parity rate vs the U.S. dollar at 6.3072 on
Tuesday, weaker than Monday's 6.3019.
- PBOC set the fixing weaker for a second straight day.
