The Tokyo morning saw futures unwind their overnight losses, as the contract hit the lunch break 4 ticks above yesterday's settlement levels, while cash JGBs richened, although the moves were < 1.0bp vs. yesterday's closing levels, with focus on this afternoon's 30-Year JGB auction.

  • BoJ board member Suzuki largely went over old ground and flagged the desire for a gradual steepening of the JGB yield curve.
  • Local data provided little to go off for the space.
