The crude tanker, Dubai Angel, arrived at the Westridge Marine Terminal in Vancouver on Monday, preparing to load the first cargo from the expanded TMX pipeline according to LSEG.

  • Canada’s Suncor has chartered the vessel to load ~550kbd of Access Western Blend (AWB) for delivery to China.
  • Prior reports suggested it was expected to arrive on the 18th. The TMX expansion began commercial operations at the start of the month but this marks the first loading.
  • There are questions around logistical constraints in and around the Port of Vancouver which may limit flows out of the expansion.
