Total Struggles to Restart Donges Refinery

TotalEnergies shut the 220kbpd CDU and 97kbpd VDU at the 219kbpd Donges refinery in France on 20 March, as the refinery is struggling to restart after technical problems occurred in late February, according to WoodMac.

  • The crude section had restarted on 14 March after being shut on 19 February, WoodMac said.
  • The refinery has been shut since 20 February due to technical problems, the CGT union said previously, after it had suffered leaks and corrosion.
  • The 39kbpd visbreaker and the 55kbpd FCC remained offline since 18 and 13 December, respectively.
