Total’s Port Arthur FCC at 75% of Capacity After Restart

The 76kbpd gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracker-2 (FCC-2) at TotalEnergies’ 238kbpd Port Arthur refinery in Texas is currently operating at 75% of capacity after Tuesday’s restart, people familiar with plant operations told Reuters.

  • TotalEnergies plans to bring the FCC up to full production in the coming days, the sources said.
  • The 5kbpd alkylation unit will restart once the FCC is back to full production.
  • After feedstocks in storage are processed by the FCC, the 40kbpd ACU-2 CDU the smaller of two at the refinery, will restart.
