Reuters's Andy Bruce and William James reporting that International Trade Secretary Liz Truss has placed two meetings and a dinner she took with the free-market think tank the Institute of Economic Affairs onto the public register having previously had it removed, quoting from a letter sent to shadow International Trade Secretary Emily Thornberry by junior trade minister Graham Stuart.
- Thornberry says ""What on earth is Liz Truss up to? ... I warned her she appeared to be breaking the ministerial code, and now after consulting the Cabinet Office rules, she's trying to quietly change the record back again."
- Truss already facing criticism from some today over the story of former Australian PM Tony Abbott potentially being made a UK trade envoy, despite his past socially conservative comments.
