Trade Unions Kick Off Public Sector Wage Talks With Government

  • Trade unions set to begin talks with Government on wage increases in the public sector from today. Unions affiliated to Cosatu & Fedusa will consolidate their demands at the weekend before tabling their final wage demands to govt on the 4th of May.
    • Earlier this year the IMF advised SA to avoid above inflation wage rises and the Treasury has thus far said it will stick to its fiscal consolidation goals – SABC news
  • Part four of the Zondo report on state capture is expected to be handed to Ramaphosa today with a focus on Eskom, the Treasury & the Free State Asbestos Scandal. The final installation will be published by 15 June after receiving another 6-week extension – SABC
