Transatlantic Quad: Urgent Need To Resolve Iran Nuclear Talks

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has just concluded a meeting with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, and UK Minister of State for Middle East, North Africa and North America James Cleverly - the so called 'Transatlantic Quad' of the US, France, Germany, and the UK.

• On the agenda was discussion of diplomatic engagements with Russia and strategy to deter future Russian aggression.
• The second agenda item was the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. The nuclear deal which will prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. This has received less media scrutiny while the Ukraine crisis is ongoing but is reaching a critical point. If a resolution isn't reached soon, the Iranian nuclear program is on a track to develop nuclear weapons imminently.
• US Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley said that all members of the so called 'Transatlantic Quad' '...agreed about the urgency of a mutual return to full JCPOA implementation. There is only a little time to reach and implement an understanding before developments in Iran’s nuclear program foreclose the possibility.'
