US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries are a little higher early Thursday.
- A bit of bull steepening seen in the curve with the short-end outperforming,
continuing Wednesday`s theme.
- The 2-Yr yield is down 1.5bps at 1.8641%, 5-Yr is down 1.3bps at 1.8576%,
10-Yr is down 0.7bps at 2.1135%, and 30-Yr is down 0.2bps at 2.6134%.
- TYs are off best levels seen in Asian trading following poor Australian jobs
data and some risk-off equity moves.
- Sep 10-Yr futures (TY) up 4/32 at 127-3.5 (L: 126-31.5 / H: 127-09)
- ED strip is a little higher, mainly in Mar20 thru Sep20 (up 3 ticks).
- Oil warrants watching, with WTI up 2.8% on news that two tankers were damaged,
suspected attacked near the Strait of Hormuz.
- Implied breakeven inflation off weakest levels; 10-Yr TIPS-implied hovering
just above 1.70% after dipping below that earlier.
- S&P Eminis up slightly (0.3)%; dollar fairly flat.
- Main data highlights today are jobless claims and import/export prices.
- Focus also on the $16bln 30Yr auction at 1300ET.
