US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries are trading a little weaker early Wednesday.
- The Mar 19 T-Note future is down 0.5/32 at 120-13, having traded in a range of
120-10 to 120-155.
- Short end of the cash curve outperforming: The 2-Yr yield is down 0.2bps at
2.762%, 5-Yr is up 0.7bps at 2.7478%, 10-Yr is up 0.7bps at 2.8861%, and 30-Yr
is up 1.3bps at 3.1387%.
- Tsys were weaker overnight following upbeat rhetoric from U.S. President Trump
re: China relations and trade war matters, although Trump did tell Reuters that
he would view a rate hike at next week's FOMC decision as `foolish`.
- A bit of a bid for Tsys just before 0300ET after a party leadership contest
against UK PM May was announced, but the rally was short-lived amid expectations
that she will survive to fight another day.
- US CPI and MBA mortgage applications data up later.
- Fed blackout period continues ahead of next week`s meeting.
