US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries continue to gain as the long-awaited U.S.-China
trade pact is set to be signed later Wednesday.
- Mar 10-Yr futures (TY) near day`s highs, up 7/32 at 129-11.5 (L: 129-04 / H:
129-12), with some bull flattening in the cash curve: 2-Yr yield down 1.2bps at
1.5577%, 5-Yr down 2bps at 1.6002%, 10-Yr down 2.3bps at 1.7882%, 30-Yr down
2.7bps at 2.2429%.
- Phase One deal signing (1130ET) in focus, though some risk-off tone has
prevailed overnight amid reports that U.S.-China detente not as smooth/amicable
as some had hoped hoped (tech and tariff issues etc). Attention on the expected
accompanying document w details of the deal.
- US equity futures flat/down slightly, with earnings in view. UnitedHealth and
Blackrock had decent beats; US Bancorp, BofA, Goldman up soon.
- PPI and Empire Manuf at 0830ET the only data.
- But plenty of Fed speakers: Philly`s Harker and SF`s Daly both at 1100ET, with
Dallas` Kaplan at 1200ET. Then Beige Book at 1400ET.
