US TSYS: Treasuries continue to see safe-haven bid despite firmer data. That's
amid a safe-haven bid due to Spain/Catalan risk, sliding Apple shares in
pre-market trading (Taiwan-based Econ. Daily News cited that orders for iPhone 8
models have been cut due to so-so demand).
- There also were anti-risk-assets worries as PBOC head Zhou reportedly told
Reuters on sidelines of China Communist Party conference that China needed to
avoid a "Minsky moment" and reduce leverage. "If there are too many pro-cyclical
factors in the economy, cyclical fluctuations are magnified and there is
excessive optimism during the period, accumulating contradictions that could
lead to the so-called Minsky Moment," he said, according to Reuters, warning
that "we should focus on preventing a dramatic adjustment."
