US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries have edged higher early Wednesday, ahead of a busy
day on Capitol Hill including testimony by Fed Chair Powell.
- The Mar 19 T-Note future is up 3/32 at 122-04, having traded in a narrow range
of 122-02 to 122-07.
- Bit of bull steepening: 2-Yr yield down 1.2bps at 2.494%, 5-Yr down 1.1bps at
2.4652%, 10-Yr down 0.4bps at 2.659%, and 30-Yr up 0.2bps at 3.0287%.
- Plenty of legislative branch action today. House of Representatives will vote
today on whether to block Pres Trump's attempts to call a border emergency.
- Fed Chair Powell will deliver his semi-annual testimony to congress today, at
the altered time of 1445GMT/0945ET.
- WSJ story Tues morning suggested Trump's former lawyer Cohen could testify and
provide evidence before Congress Wednesday that the President engaged in
criminal conduct while in office, little market reac to headline though.
- Delayed Dec housing starts and building permits data out today as well.
