Tropical Storm Warning Issued for West Gulf of Mexico Coast

A tropical storm warning has been issued for a portion of the Western Gulf of Mexico Coast.

  • Potential Tropical Cyclone One was moving slowly north at 6 mph, the National Hurricane Center said in an advisory at 4:00 a.m. CDT.

  • NHC reported Monday: The SW Gulf of Mexico system is likely to become a tropical depression or tropical storm by midweek while it moves slowly westward or west-northwestward toward the western Gulf coast. (70% chance). The SW Atlantic has a low formation chance (30%) as it approaches the coast of the southeast United States on Thursday or Friday.
