US TSY FLOWS: Tsy futures trading steady/mixed, curve flatter with long end
climbing off lows over last hour, light volume. Minn Fed Kashkari said hiking
rates as inflation remains weak a mistake late Mon. US$ stronger vs. Yen
(111.936), equities little weaker (emini -1.0, 2496.0), gold receding from Mon's
risk-off rally (-8.75, 1302.08), oil near steady (WTI -0.09, 52.13).
- Asia, Tsys opened near steady to Mon's closing levels, some mild risk-off
unwinds though US/N-Korea tensions remain high, China officials seeking to
squelch rhetoric. Flow included fx-tied selling, Asian banks 2-way in 10s, sold
30s, end-user buying in 30s.
- London, quiet crossover, more sideways trade w/mixed flow in the
intermediates, prop acct buying in belly light bank portfolio buying in 30s.
- Swaps, spds running steady/mixed, mildly tighter out the curve on light flow,
rate paying in the belly, recent receiver in 10s, spd curve flattener interest,
light unwinds from last week's steepeners.
- Eurodollar, steady to mildly lower in Reds-Blues (Dec'18-Sep'21); LIBOR 3M
+0.0011 to 1.3308% (+0.0011/wk).
