US TSYS: Tsys have eased a touch in Asia-Pacific dealing, with T-Notes breaching
Thursday's late low, although the contract has stuck to a narrow range, and the
move lacked follow through. The move lower in Asia hours was aided by comments
from China's MOFCOM stating that the U.S.-China trade talks were "constructive &
honest," with communication between the 2 set to continue.
- The Eurodollar strip trades a touch softer, in sympathy with Tsys, with the
white & red contracts last 0.5 to 1.5 ticks lower last.
- Late Thursday Fed's Kaplan suggested that the Fed should be raising rates 3 to
4 times in the next 9 to 12 months, and that he hopes the Fed can move to a
neutral rate without inverting the yield curve. Fed's Bostic highlighted that he
exp. above trend growth. On the political front, reports suggested that U.S.
President Trump has been advised against pardoning Paul Manafort, while the NYT
has suggested that the Manhattan D.A. is eying criminal charges against the
Trump Organisation re: hush money. Focus now falls on Fed Chair Powell's address
at Jackson Hole today.
- T-Notes last at 120.16, U.S. 10-Year cash Tsy yields last at 2.828%.
